Prehistoric Animal Section - IntroductionWelcome to the Prehistoric and Ancient Animals section. Although not quite as old as the critters it represents, these images were some of the first I put on the second reincarnation of Bugs and Beasts way back in 2008. The pictures have now been dusted down and put in their own section. The trouble is that there is no way I can cover all the species and ages they represent on this page. So I chose instead to give credit to the guy who drew ALL of them! Photograph of Nobu Tamura He is rather reclusive, but back in the day I got him to send me this image, which I think is really cool! I love the way the dinosaur is looking over his shoulder, inquisitive about what is going on. If you are a dinosaur fan (and who in their right mind isn't) then you are sure to have seen plenty of Nobu's work. He is a major contributor to Wikipedia, and his Creative Commons images appear on countless blogs. I believe that the correct term for what he does is paleoartist, but anyway here are some links to his major sites:
Finally, I'd just like to say a BIG thanks to Nobu for giving guys like me the opportunity of using his images. This site and many others are richer for all his hard work! |
